Vajra Master Samantha of Purple Lotus Temple Received the Peace
Ambassador Award
On
September 26th, 2002, at the Oakland Convention Center, Buddhist Vajra
Master Samantha Chou, who is well known for her compassion and leadership
in the spiritual community, received the Peace Ambassador Award.
The religious event was organized jointly by the American Religious
Leadership Association, World Peace Family Association, and World Peace
Women Association. It took place from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and close
to a thousand people attended.
Vajra Master Samantha, a Buddhist master of the True Buddha School,
is a living bodhisattva who truly cares for others and works tirelessly
and selflessly to help others. For more than a decade, Master Samantha
has hosted numerous dharma ceremonies around the world dedicated to
the relief of sufferings brought on by man-made and natural disasters,
warfare, and the promotion of peace between individuals as well as between
nations. Her dharma ceremonies seek to benefit not just the human world,
but also the spirit world. As a result, she was nominated for the World
Peace Ambassador Award. The acceptance of the award on behalf of the
Buddhist community establishes Master Samantha's recognition among the
general public.
